Energy Performance Certificates for Commercial Property

BLC Property Services employ qualified Energy Assessors to complete Commercial Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs). Since January 2009 legislation requires ALL commercial premises to have acquired a Commercial Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) if they are to be marketed for sale or rent. 

Commercial Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) are now enforceable by law; Trading Standards Officers now have the power to issue fines for the failure to produce an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). These fines range between £500 and £5,000 depending on the properties rateable value and you will then still be expected to have an EPC issued.

What is involved in a Commercial Energy Performance Certificates (EPC)?

Similar to a domestic Energy Performance Certificates (EPC) but in greater detail; we measure and calculate the energy efficiency of a property by assessing the dimensions, heating, cooling, lighting and glazing together with the construction fabrics.
